We Say Goodbye to 9th Grade

MyHotComments

Today we had a very special activity for 9th grade. We were saying goodbye to our beloved 9th grade group. The 8th group wrote down farewell messages and prepared a presentation for the graduating class that included pictures and music. Things got really emotional and the 9th graders were all crying their hearts out. Adios 9no. Fueron los primeros en estrenarme como maestra. Nunca los olvidare.

How to Enjoy Every Month of the Year

http://comsewogue.k12.ny.us/~csinger/class2001/chickensoup/acrostic_poems.htm
Jumping in the snow
Animals hibernating
Now skiing areas are busy
Umbrellas in the snow
All children playing in the snow
Riding sleds
Yummy hot Soup!

Finally it’s Valentine’s Day
Eating candy hearts
Black History Month
Reading Valentine’s cards
Unbelievable school vacations
Arrows with cupid
Runnin’ and rolling in the snow
Yeah! It’s President’s Day.

March comes in like a lion, but goes out like a lamb
Apple trees start to bloom
Riding bikes outside
Corn Beef and Cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day dinner
Here comes the St. Patrick’s Day parade.

April Fool’s Day tricks
Poetry Appreciation Month
Rain showers bring May flowers
In April it gets warmer
Let’s Get ready for May.

My flowers in my garden start to bloom
And May is when we run and play
Yellow and black bees buzz around!

Jumping in the pool would be nice
Under the ocean blue, colorful fish swim
Nice new flowers sprout out
Everyday the weather is nice and warm.

Jumping in the pool is fun
U can go to the beach and rest in the sun
Licking ice cream is a cool treat
You can watch fireworks on July 4th!

August is hot and a good month to go to the beach
Umbrellas can keep the sun away
Going on vacation is a good thing to do
U can take a peek with snorkel equipment at the fish
Summer’s coming to an end
The sun is hot and bright.

Sunsets look beautiful
Every different leaf falls down
People are getting jackets
Teachers say, “You’re growing up!”
Everybody writes in writer’s workshop
Mothers miss their children when they’re at school
Brrr… it’s cold
Every bird is flying
Running around on the playground is fun.

October is here the ghost appears
Creepy zombies everywhere
Talk to the toast because the ghost don’t wanna here it
Owls are awake at night
Bad bats fly at night
Evil spirits are here
RIP, rip and more rip.

Nate knocked over the acorn file
Olivia jumps in the leaves
Very strong winds are blowing
Each animal camouflages to eat their prey
Mom makes apple pie and turkey
Brrr… no more short sleeves
Everyday its cold when we rake leaves
Reading about pilgrims is fun.

Decorating trees with beads
Even colder than other months
Coffee smells great on Christmas Eve
Everybody’s making snowmen
Mothers decorate and make hot cocoa
Buddies play together in the snow
Everyone’s riding sleighs and having snowball fights
Reindeer leave their hoof prints in the snow!

Art at Our School

On friday night we had Noche de Galeria at our school. Students had the opportunity to prepare art work that was mounted and presented for all attendants to see, including parents. Students from all grades participated. The activity was sponsored by the National Junior Honor Society and it was a total sucess. We also had our Homage to Parents were our students shined with their artistic presentations for moms and dads. Congrats to all the students from the Sui Generis chapter and to their moderator, Ms. Annie Cintron for such a successful activity.

The Bully: How to Deal with School Harrasment

Bully is a name used for abusive children and teenagers. The word comes from “bull” and it is used because it describes the common behavior of these children and teenagers to attack someone. Bullies are typically perceived as the physically large boy at school who beats all the other boys. But a new trend is beginning to appear at our schools. Bullies now come in all shapes and sizes. They can be girls or boys and their size it not an important factor. A bully’s conduct includes elements such as intimidation, humiliation, mocking, threats, and beatings. They tend to pester students who are quiet, introvert, have low self-esteem and few friends. Beware students! Bullying can be done either physically, verbally or using any electronic device such as computers (e-mail, messengers blogs, etc) or cell phones (text messages, pictures, and others.) It you are the victim of a bully don’t feel bad, you are not the first who has had to endure humiliation. The first thing to do is talk to an adult about the situation. Teachers and parents can help. It is never an option to attack the bully physically or verbally, but you should make it clear to him/her that you feel uncomfortable and that he/she should stop treating you in such manner. And last but not least, remember to love and believe in yourself. People will always comment about you, some positive, others negative, but if you are true to your beliefs and your character everything will turn around in your favor. Believe, trust and love yourself.

Macha and Pulgui

These are my two beautiful dogs. Pulgui, a female, is the black dog and Macha, a male, is the spotted dog. They are almost four years old and they live with me at my mother's house. Macha and Pulgui were orfans and we picked them up from the street. They were really sick and we took care of them until they grew strong. We had to feed them milk with bottles made for kittens because they were quite small. They are very loved and they are like the babies at our house.
